So in the background, vCloud Director records the vCenter ID (called Managed Object Reference a.k.a. MoRef). Every object in vCenter gets its own MoRef, even if it's the same name. If these were local switches, it would use the name matching system. In the case of a distributed switch, it has to be by the exact MoRef to ensure that its the exact same network. Esp since a Distributed switch can span many hosts.
