We are looking to deploy our first lab vCD implementation. We want to use it for a lab that will provide IAAS to testers and developers. We had to rush the purchase of the software and hardware in order to consume the last of the budget. We have a single blade chassis, 4 blades, a SAN and supporting network infrastructure. Each blade has 12 cores, and 96 GB or RAM, with 6 NICs.
I didn't realize that the management cluster and resource clusters were separate when we bought the software. I am looking for advice on how to divvy up the hosts between management and resource clusters given I only have 4 hosts.
We have a production vSphere cluster in our datacenter (in another city). It has 3 hosts in it running vSphere Std. Could we host the management infrastructure off of that cluster and the keep the resource group in our office? The pipe to that datacenter is 100MB. The 4 Host then would become dedicated resource cells..
Any advice would be greatly appreciated... thanks,
