pciSlotNumbers are shuffled after adding vnics to the VM inside catalog

Hello,

Case 1: I have 3 vnics on a VM which is located on one of the Host in a vCenter. I add 2 more vnics which totals to 5 and then import this VM in to a vCloud Director. All the vnics are added properly and I see following config in the vmx file:-

ethernet0.pciSlotNumber = "32"

ethernet1.pciSlotNumber = "33"

ethernet2.pciSlotNumber = "34"

ethernet3.pciSlotNumber = "35"

ethernet4.pciSlotNumber = "36"

Case 2: I have the same VM in a VCD catalog which has 3 vnics, I add 2 more vnics and then power on the VM. I see following entries in the vmx:-

ethernet0.pciSlotNumber = "32"

ethernet1.pciSlotNumber = "34"

ethernet2.pciSlotNumber = "35"

ethernet3.pciSlotNumber = "33"

ethernet4.pciSlotNumber = "36"

Not sure why the pcislot values are shuffled when we add vnics to the VM when it is in the catalog, this is very critical to the partner and they want the slot numbers to remain intact irrespective of the vnic being added thru vcenter or vcd.

Any ideas as to why this should be happening?

Thanks,

Bala
