Has anyone else had issues with having Storage DRS enabled on a vCloud managed datastore cluster? The problem we are having is that shadow VMs are being balanced to different datastores and it is causing alerts that vApps span datastores which is unsupported. I believe this is also causing some of the shadow VMs to show up in vCloud as duplicate and unusable.
From what I have read, vCenter 5.1+ has support for vCloud fast provisioning and a new shadow VM should be instantiated before any children VMs are migrated to a new datastore. However, in this case it's just the shadow VMs themselves that are being migrated. In the SDRS recommendation screenshot (attached) you can see a shadow for Deskop01 is going to be moved, as well as a Desktop01 VM. However when I checked the storage view for the VM and list the virtual machine files, that VM uses a different shadow VM than the one listed. So if the recommendation is applied, two or more VMs would then be dealing with cross datastore linked clones.
Is this a common problem or something that is just messed up with my environment?
Thanks,
Duncan
