Re: Allocation Pool vCPU and memory reservations not as expeccted in vCD 5.1
If you are only using a single cluster to back a Provider/Org vDC for allocation pools, the suggestion is to upgrade to 5.1.2. This will enable SCAP mode, and set the reservations on the resource...

Ok this adds more questions to the mix. What tool is it that you mention? Also, is there a definitive answer on what will occur at the vSphere HA level if SCAP is enabled and or we upgrade from 5.1.1...
View ArticleRe: Allocation Pool vCPU and memory reservations not as expeccted in vCD 5.1
The tool is for support only, and will only verify that reservations are set correctly on the pools and VMs which were deployed by vCloud. However, given the questions you have, it may be best served...

I emailed my support engineer asking about this tool. Ya I'm not concerned about CPU reservations. My main concern is RAM reservations.

you can setup a webserver with a pair of json files to represent the catalog. The JSON files will contain the metadata required, and you can sync to this like any vCloud Director based ones.
View ArticleRe: Does vCloud Director support an external (HTTP-based) catalog ?
also, please wait until the products official release occurs. then all the proper documentation should be available.

Ok thanks for the info.

Based on the first screen capture, you're not even using vCloud Director ... this is just the vSphere web client. If you create the VM here, it won't appear in vCloud without importing it. Is there...

View ArticleRe: Certain Virtual Machines within vAPP cannot start
You do not need to change VM state. Anything that uses vCenter will be offline during the upgrade. e.g. VM creation, requesting a VMRC console, etc. As long as the states don't change on their own,...
